Foot Balm Key Ingredients
•Coconut Oil – contains fatty acids that are excellent in providing moisturization. When applied to the feet, it can help alleviate and prevent dry and cracked skin. Additionally, coconut oil has antifungal properties due to the presence of lauric acid, which can be beneficial in treating fungal infections like athlete's foot. Moreover, coconut oil has antimicrobial properties that help combat odor-causing bacteria on the feet, thus contributing to a fresher smell. It can also soften calluses and make the foot skin smoother with regular application. Furthermore, coconut oil can be used for a relaxing foot massage that moisturizes and promotes better circulation.
• Olive Oil– is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, making it an effective moisturizer for the feet that also helps soften the skin and prevents dryness. The antioxidants in olive oil, such as vitamin E and polyphenols, can protect the skin on our feet from damage caused by free radicals. Olive oil's anti-inflammatory properties may aid in the healing of minor cuts, scratches, or abrasions on the feet. Applying olive oil to the toenails and cuticles can help keep them moisturized and prevent issues like dry and brittle nails. Additionally, it can be beneficial for individuals with cracked heels as regular application may help soften the skin and promote healing.
• Clove Bud Oil – has several benefits for foot health. It possesses antifungal and antibacterial properties that can help prevent or treat fungal and bacterial infections, such as athlete's foot. Additionally, it contains eugenol, a compound with analgesic properties that can relieve foot pain, including that caused by-conditions like plantar fasciitis. The oil also has anti-inflammatory effects that may assist in reducing inflammation and discomfort associated with various foot issues. When applied topically, it produces a warming sensation that can provide comfort and potentially improve circulation.
• Peppermint Oil - is a versatile remedy for foot care. Not only does it have a cooling effect on the skin, which can provide a refreshing and soothing sensation, especially after a long day of standing or walking, but it also relieves pain and discomfort in the feet due to its analgesic properties. Additionally, peppermint oil contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help reduce inflammation, making it useful for conditions like swollen or achy feet. Moreover, it has natural deodorizing properties that inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria and can thus help combat foot odor. Finally, the cooling effect of peppermint oil may also promote better blood circulation, which can help rejuvenate tired feet.
• Shea Butter –helps to maintain skin health overall. It contains essential fatty acids, such as oleic and linoleic acids, which nourish and hydrate the skin on the feet. Furthermore, cinnamic acid in shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation and discomfort associated with foot conditions. Shea butter has healing properties that make it useful for treating minor wounds, cuts, and abrasions on the feet and promoting the skin's natural healing process. Regularly applying shea butter can prevent the formation of calluses and soften existing ones, leading to smoother and more comfortable feet. Shea butter also maintains skin suppleness, reducing the risk of cracks and fissures when applied to the feet. Finally, shea butter contains antioxidants like vitamins A and E, which can protect the feet's skin from free radical damage, helping maintain its overall health and appearance.
• Melexylem – our proprietary honey and propolis blend found in all of our balms, is made from certified organic enzyme rich honey and organic green propolis, bringing prebiotic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and moisturizing benefits to your feet. Honey is one of the most studied materials made by nature, proven to provide anti-aging, anti-bacterial and Vitamin B nourishment to the skin. Propolis, another bee based ingredient, is nature’s all in one anti-microbial, containing hundreds of different chemical compounds shown to help to suppress harmful bacteria and viruses to humans, but also stimulates and regulates the skin’s metabolism and immune systems further supporting health skin.
